A Job with BT - a job for life?

Time was when a Job with the Post Office working in the telephone exchange was like many other careers - it was a job for life if you wanted it to be.
Since the telephone exchange arm split away from the Post Office and became British Telecom leaving the PO as Royal Mail the same still held true - once you had a foot in the door you're there for the duration.
